Chris returns to Chicago Shakespeare Theater to cover a pair of Shakespeare’s English kings (and title roles), Edward III and Henry V, in Tug of War: Foreign Fire, the first production of Barbara Gaines‘s two-part marathon adaptation of Shakespeare’s history plays.
Foreign Fire (which also includes the first part of Henry VI) deals with Shakespeare’s take on the English wars with France during the Hundred Years War, wherein Edward and his great-grandson Henry invade their cousins across the Channel.
Chris understudies Freddie Stevenson as King Edward III and John Tufts as King Henry V.
Chris was last seen at Chicago Shakes as Mercutio in the Short Shakes! production of Romeo and Juliet in 2008.
Tug of War: Foreign Fire runs through June 12. Visit chicagoshakes.com for tickets.
